Recently, CLT Airport was recognized among the top speediest airports and best for connecting passengers.
Last month, Huffington Post named CLT among the top ten speediest US airports.
The newspaper compiled data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), averaged real-time crowd sourced security wait times, and compared expedited-screening options and airport layouts to come up with this list of the country’s 10 speediest major airports.
Huffington Post wrote, “With 41.2 million passengers last year, Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the nation’s eighth busiest airport. However, it still manages to maintain a top-five spot among U.S. airports for on-time departures.”
Additionally, in a Travel Leaders Group survey published by USA Today in June, CLT was ranked the second-best airport in the U.S. for making connections, owing perhaps in part to its layout: a single terminal with multiple concourses.
Other airports that made the top 10 were: Salt Lake City International Airport, San Diego International Airport, Tampa International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Boston Logan International Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Portland International Airport and Reagan National Airport.
