Welcome to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, where every day, the men and women of the CMPD are working to
reduce crime, increase safety in our community and hold ourselves accountable for the delivery of these services.

Through a range of crime prevention, intervention and enforcement strategies, the CMPD is determined to "prevent the next crime." Of course, we cannot do it alone. We need your help in reporting suspicious activity and crime, becoming and remaining involved in your neighborhoods, and sharing information with us to enable us to better focus upon community's priorities. Working together, we can develop proactive, long-term solutions to crime problems and neighborhood challenges.

This web site is one tool we use to share information, provide service and highlight available resources.
