Steele Creek Division patrol officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested and charged Decarlos Dejuan Brown, DOB: 10/1/1990, and Carl Dewayne Wells, DOB: 04/11/1994, for their role in this breaking and entering case.
On Monday, November 11, 2013, at approximately 2:18 p.m., Steele Creek Division patrol officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Andover Woods Drive in reference to a residential breaking and entering call for service. The witness called 911 after they observed the suspects breaking into the apartment. Steele Creek Division officers arrived on scene and gathered a detailed description of the suspects. Officers were able to locate Mr. Brown and Mr. Wells nearby with the stolen property. The witness positively identified the suspects and they were transported to the Steele Creek Division where they were interviewed by detectives.
Upon completion of the interviews, Mr. Brown and Mr. Wells were charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony conspiracy. Mr. Brown and Mr. Wells were then transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Because of an alert neighbor and great communication among responding officers, this led to the arrest of Mr. Brown and Mr. Wells and the recovery of the victims stolen property.
