Officer Jaqcueline Clyburn
On December 12, 2013, Officer Jacqueline Clyburn responded to a home invasion on Preservation Pointe Drive . The victim stated that the suspects had entered his home while the family was asleep and began removing items from the home. One victim’s awakened and confronted the suspects who left on foot. The victim followed the suspects outside before one of the suspect’s pointed a firearm at the victim. The victim observed all of the suspects enter a car before leaving the area and relayed this information to the tele-communicator after calling 911.
As Officer Clyburn arrived in the area of Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd. and Callabridge Court, she observed a vehicle fitting the suspect description leaving the area. Officer Clyburn initiated a traffic stop and all of the occupants were detained without incident. All of the occupants were positively identified by the victims and property from the home was recovered from the vehicle.
Officer Clyburn’s situational awareness of her surroundings is directly responsible for the arrest and closure of this incident. She should be commended for her efforts.
