On February 26, 2014, at approximately 1:53 p.m., Freedom Division patrol officers responded to an ADW call for service at I-85 South near Little Rock Road.  Upon arrival the victim stated that he was traveling on I-85 South when the suspects began to shoot at this vehicle.  The victim began to accelerate as he exited the interstate at Little Rock Road and wrecked his vehicle.  The victim got out of the damaged vehicle and ran to a nearby business to call 911.  The suspects pulled up to the victims vehicle and one of the suspects got in the vehicle and drove off.  The victim was not injured during this incident.

On February 27, 2014, North Division patrol officers responded to the 6400 block of Beatties Ford Road in reference to assisting the Charlotte Fire Department.  Upon arrival officers located a vehicle that was on fire.  Upon checking the vehicle identification number, officers determined that the vehicle belonged to the victim in the ADW.  Detectives were notified and responded to the scene to begin their investigation.  Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.

Based on information and evidence that was gathered during both investigations, detectives identified Mr. Cunningham as a suspect.  Detectives located Mr. Cunningham inside a residence on Biesterfield Drive.  Mr. Cunningham was transported to police headquarters where he was interviewed by detectives.  Upon completion of the interview, Mr. Cunningham was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives served additional warrants on Mr. Cunningham while he was in custody for Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property and Arson.

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit identified two additional suspects from the ADW and obtained warrants for their arrests.  Detectives requested the assistance from the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) in locating the wanted suspects.  Both of the suspects were located and arrested this morning by VCAT without incident.  The suspects were taken to police headquarters where they were interviewed by detectives.

Upon completion of the interviews, Mr. Glenn was charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.   Mr. Cook was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.  Both suspects have been transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where they will remain in custody.
