University City Division patrol officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have arrested and charged Travion Montuious Chisholm, DOB: 06/15/1994, for his involvement in several residential breaking and entering cases.
On March 14, 2014, at approximately 2:00 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a breaking and entering call for service at an apartment in the 8900 block of Avebury Dr. A citizen called 911 to report seeing a suspect push open a window of one of the apartment units before attempting to break in.
Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Travion Montuious Chisolm. On March 17,2014, Chisolm was arrested without incident. During the investigation it was determined that Chisolm was also responsible for several other residential breaking and entering cases which include:
Chisholm is currently in custody and has been charged with 3 counts of breaking and entering, 2 counts of larceny and 2 counts of possessing stolen property. Detectives are actively investigating whether Chisholm is responsible for additional breaking and entering cases in the area.
This arrest illustrates just how critical it is for the community to call 911 when they see something suspicious. Had it not been for an alert community member willing to get involved, this suspect would likely be free to prey on other members of our community.
