Patrol officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s North Division have arrested five suspects for their involvement in a home invasion.

On Sunday, December 15, 2013, at approximately 4:00 a.m., North Division patrol officers responded to the 12600 block of Preservation Pointe Drive in reference to an occupied breaking and entering call for service.  Upon their arrival, officers located the residents unharmed.  The victims advised they were awoken to multiple suspects inside of their home stealing their property.  Upon observing the victims awaking, the suspects then began to flee the residence.  One of the victims attempted to give chase to the suspects, when one of the suspects pointed a gun and threatened the victim.  The suspects then fled the scene in a Nissan Altima.

Due to an excellent description of the suspect vehicle, a responding patrol officer observed the suspect vehicle fleeing the neighborhood and conducted a traffic stop.

Evidence and information gathered during the investigation identified Kelvin Martinez, DOB: 11/14/1995, Steven Buchanan, DOB: 03/09/1996, Marcus Allen, DOB: 06/22/1996, Kendrick Barnette, DOB: 08/20/1996 and Antoine Harris, DOB: 08/08/1992 as suspects in the home invasion.

All five suspects were then placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where they were interviewed by Robbery Unit Detectives.  At the conclusion of the interviews, Mr. Allen, Mr. Barnette, Mr. Martinez, Mr. Harris were all charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and 1st degree burglary of an occupied dwelling.  They were then transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Thanks to the excellent descriptions given by victims and an alert officer, all five suspects were apprehended within a short period of time of the home invasion.  Anyone with additional information concerning this case and or suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704.334.1600.  To learn more about the Crime Stoppers mobile app, please visit http://charlottecrimestoppers.com/.  For additional information about this incident, please refer to report number 2013-1215-0412-00.
