  Case # 990522204002
Victim –
David Jackson
Age – 76 year old White Male, DOB 1/10/1923
Location – 3017 Hudson Street
Date of homicide – May 22, 1999
 
 
Summary:
On Saturday May 22, 1999 at 8:40PM a friend of the victim called an off duty officer who knew the victim because he could not get Mr. Jackson to come to the door. Upon entrance Mr. Jackson was found dead. The front door was locked with the back door closed but unsecure. The house was not ransacked and no items appeared missing. Mr. Jackson was last seen alive around 1:00PM talking with a man who does yard work. In addition the off duty officer noted that he was by the house about 3:30PM to talk with the victim but did not get an answer when he knocked.

Location – 5824 Stone Bluff Court
Date of homicide – April 29, 2001
 
 
Summary:
The victim was 25 years old at the time of her death. She was married and had two children, aged 6 and 3 years old. Early in the evening on Saturday 04/28/2001 the victim received a phone call saying that her grandmother had died in El Salvador. After a while the victim asked her husband to take the children away for a little bit so she could be alone. After being gone a while they returned in the early morning hours of the 29th and he found that she had been killed. Neighbors found him on the phone with 911 and then assisted with that call.

Location – 1506 Coker Ave
Date of homicide – February 22, 1992
 
 
Summary:
On Thursday February 22, 1992 at about 1:35AM Marion Cunningham left 2729 Zebulon Ave, by car with two males. At approximately 1:40AM she was shot multiple times outside of 1512 Coker Ave. She entered a house at this location where she collapsed and died on the dining room floor. The owner of the home confronted the suspects. They exchanged shots and the suspects fled the scene.

John A. Muller
Age – 32 year old Black Male, DOB 02/01/1971
Location – 3717 Freedom Drive
Date of homicide – June 26, 2003
 

 
Summary:
On June 26,2003 just before 7:00p.m. a robbery occurred at the Jiffy Lube Store at 3717 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. The suspect was a black male, 20-25 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, 160 -170 pounds wearing a white tank top, light blue denim shorts and a red ski mask (toboggan) and armed with a hand gun. The victim, John A. Muller was shot and killed during this robbery.

Victim –
Edward J. Hunter III
Age – 23 year old Black Male, DOB 02/16/1977
Location – 2838 Tuckasegee Road
Date of homicide – June 26, 2000
 

 
Summary:
The victim and a witness were standing under a car port that was attached to a duplex at the above location. Someone fired a shot, striking the victim. The victim and witness then ran from under the carport. The victim ran to the adjacent duplex and collapsed at the door. The witness ran several blocks from the scene and returned a short time later but the victim had died at the scene.

Robert Wade Ashe
Age – 84 Year Old W/M, DOB 11/06/14
Location – 421 Dotger Ave.
Date of homicide – April 23, 1999
 

 
Summary:
On Friday, April 23, 1999 the police were called to the home of Mr. Robert Ashe, an elderly male, who was found unresponsive by a friend. The victim was previously in a rest home type facility but his niece brought him home Tuesday the morning of the 20th. He had contact with the friend each day at home and was last seen alive on Thursday April 22nd around 1:00PM. It was subsequently determined that Robert Ashe was the victim of a homicide.

Victim – Bruce Ruffin
Age – 54 year old Black Male, DOB 09/16/1932
Location – 757 Bilmark Avenue
Date of homicide – April 19, 1986
 

 
Summary:
The victim was the owner of a real estate firm. He had owned construction and real estate companies in Charlotte for 17 years. On April 18, 1986 Mr. Ruffin left his place of business at 3PM but failed to return and meet his son at 6PM as previously arranged. He also failed to come home that evening and his truck was missing. On April 19, 1986 a break-in was reported at 757 Bilmark Ave with evidence indicating the victim's presence and pointing to violence. This was a property previously owned by the victim. On April 22, 1986 Mr. Ruffin's pick-up truck was located in the 2500 block of Belhaven Blvd. On May 10th, 1986 the victim's body was discovered on a dirt road off of 17915 Beatties Ford Road.

Lottie Mae Webb
Age – 67 Year Old Black Female
Location – 2967 No 1 Ridge Avenue
Date of homicide – January 7, 2000
 

 
Summary:
On 1/7/00 CMPD officers responded to the address of Lottie Mae Webb, age 67 at 2967 Ridge Avenue after a neighbor was unable to get her to respond to the door. Upon entering the residence Webb was found deceased. The Medical Examiners Office determined that Webb was a victim of homicide. The victim was believed to have been last seen on 1/6/00 at approximately 4:00 PM or 1/7/00 before noon.

Aaron Emmanuel Talbert
Age – 30 Year Old Black Male
Location – 601 Farmhurst Drive
Date of homicide – January 23, 2004
 

 
Summary:
On January 23rd, 2004 at approximately 11:30 PM several men were standing around in the parking lot of The Landings Apartments listening to music from one of the friends' car CD. Another car drove up and one male exited and started shooting. Aaron Talbert of 2736 Kenhill Drive died on the scene. Two victims were shot at but not injured. Three others were wounded. They were taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment where on January 25, 2004 Kevin Morris died of his wounds.

Summary:
On January 23rd, 2004 at approximately 11:30 PM several men were standing around in the parking lot of The Landings Apartments listening to music from one of the friends' car CD. Summary:
The victim, manager of the Steak & Ale Restaurant on Woodlawn Road, was found by his wife, murdered in the office of the restaurant, after the business closed, the apparent victim of a robbery.

Sherray Ann Gaines
Age – 28 year old black female
Location - LaSalle St. & Dawson Ave
Date of homicide – February 5, 1995 
 
 

Summary:
The victim was last seen alive by witnesses on Saturday night 2/4/95 in the Five Points area and again on Rozzelles Ferry and Bruns Avenue. She was found by a postal worker while delivering mail the morning of 2/5/95.

Robert Vincent Gudenzi
Age – 61 year old white male
Location - 4624 South Boulevard
Date of homicide – May 18, 2000 
 
 

Summary:
On 5/18/00 at approximately 4:00 p.m., police responded to the 4600 block of South Boulevard, just north of Woodlawn Road, where an employee, Robert Gudenzi, age 61, of Charlotte was found murdered inside the building. Gudenzi had opened up the business on Thursday morning of 5/18/00.

Victim – Arvettra Martin Christmas
Age – 43 year old black male
Location - 2231 Rozzelles Ferry Road
Date of homicide – January 29, 1987
 
 

Summary:
On January 29, 1987 at approximately 4:30 PM the victim was found lying on his sofa in his residence by a friend. This was approx. 15 minutes after the victim's neighbor, heard a gunshot that he said sounded like a heavy caliber handgun.

Sarah Mobley Hall & Derrick Dion Mobley
Ages – 27 year old black female & 11 year old black male
Location - 1411 Ventura Way #8
Date of homicide – March 3, 1984
 
 

Summary:
The victims, Sarah and her son, were found in their apartment on March 14, 1984. There were signs of a struggle. It also appeared the victims had been deceased for several days. The victims were initially found by friends trying to contact Sarah and they in turn contacted the police.

Audifas Perez DeHesa
Age - 39 year old latino male
Location - 313 Blackhawk Rd # 5
Date of Homicide - July 22, 2000
 

Summary:
The Victim was originally from Oaxaca, Mexico. He and several other Latino males lived together while working in sheet rock construction in Charlotte. Mr. DeHesa had only been in the US for about three months in Charlotte and had no criminal record. Officers responded to the residence and found the victim shot. He was transported to CMC where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses in the apartment said they heard a knock at the back door. The Mr. DeHesa answered the door and they heard one gun shot. When they went back they found the victim shot and two black males running from the apartment.

Samuel Scott Tillman 
Age - 24 year old white male
Location - Interstate 77 North Bound
Date of Homicide - July 4, 1986
 

Summary:
On July 4, 1986, at 2:57AM the victim was found wrecked against a guard rail on I-77 South of Wilkinson Boulevard. The victim was found in the car, shot and died a short time later. A blue late model General Motors car, similar to a Buick Regal, was seen "playing tag" with the Tillman vehicle shortly before the incident occurred.

Oliver Jones
Age - 77 Year old black male
Location - 2205 LaSalle Street 
Date of Homicide - March 28, 1999
 

Summary:
On Sunday afternoon, March 28, 1999, the body of Oliver Jones, age 77, was found in his house at 2205 LaSalle Street.  He was found by his daughter, who had gone there to check on him.  People frequented the residence with the consent of the victim and large numbers of people were known to come and go from the house at all hours. Mr. Jones was last seen alive around 8 pm, on Saturday, March 27, 1999. It was later determined that the victim had been stabbed.

Anthony Terrell Dawkins
Age: 27/ Black Male
Location: 3539 Wilkinson Boulevard, Charlotte, NC Parking Lot of Wilson Lewith Textile Machinery Company
Date of Homicide: 04-03-1998
 
 

Summary:
Anthony Terrell Dawkins was a black male who was 27 years of age at the time of his death. He had no criminal record. He had been working for about one month on the third shift at Best in Plastics Corporation, Gastonia NC. Some equipment had gone down and the victim volunteered to leave early.  He was considered a good employee. Anthony was single and resided in Blacksburg SC with his mother. On Friday, April 3, 1998 at 10:40 AM the victim was discovered in the parking lot of Wilson Lewith Company located at 3539 Wilkinson Boulevard. The Victim's car was used in an armed robbery of Petro Express located at  605 Clanton Road, on 4/3/98 approximately 20 minutes before victim's body was discovered. Geneva Alexandria Smith
Age: 19/ Black Female
Location: Dump Site York County, Hwy 21 Business Fort Mill, SC
Date of Homicide: Reported missing on 01-24-1991. Victim located 03-06-1991
 
 

Summary:
The victim was a 19 year old female who lived off of Nations Ford Road and was known to frequent the Grier Heights neighborhood. She was last seen wearing an acid wash corduroy top and jeans. The victim was 5'6" and weighed 150 pounds. The victim was reported missing on January 24, 1991. She was last seen leaving her residence on Edgegreen Dr. in a vehicle occupied by a known male acquaintance. This was the last time Geneva was seen or heard from. Her boyfriend noted that she had gotten a phone call at 2:00PM. The victim told him that she was going to Gastonia. Her body was found on March 6, 1991 off Hwy 21 Business, Fort Mill, SC by employees who worked for a tree service company.   Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.



 
Cold Case # 1972-6573
Victim:
  Sylvia Newman Gregory
Age: 22 / White Female
Location: Highway 160, near Fort Mill, SC, one and a half miles below the city limit sign.
Date of Homicide:  04-18-1972
 
 

Summary:
The victim is a female who was 22 years old at the time she was kidnapped (date of birth 7/28/49).  She was 5'7", approximately 135 pounds, light brown shoulder length hair and brown eyes.  The victim was home alone at the time of her abduction. When her husband arrived home he found the door on their trailer ajar and could not locate the victim. There were signs of a struggle.  He then reported her disappearance to the police. Sylvia was apparently abducted from her trailer at approximately 2200 hours on 4/18/72.  Her remains were located on 10/10/73 in woods off of Highway 160 west of Fort Mill, SC. Location: 3101 Faye St. Apt. 10, Charlotte, NC
Date of Homicide:  Feb. 07, 1992
 
 

Summary:
On Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1992 at about 7:44 am officers responded to a report by a relative of a death at 3101 Faye St. Apt. 10.  A relative said they spoke to the victim earlier that morning on the telephone but later, when dropping a child off for babysitting, found her dead. Cold Case # 1974-02804

  Flay David Willis

Location: I-85 South Catawba River Bridge (Rest Area)
Date of Homicide: 02-09-1974
 
 

Summary:
On Saturday February 9, 1974 at about 3:20AM. the Mecklenburg County Police Department received a call a person had been assaulted in the restroom of the rest area on the southbound side of I-85 at the Catawba River Bridge.  The victim was found in the bathroom area suffering from a gunshot wound.  He was transported by South Point Ambulance Service to Charlotte Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim was an electrician and normally worked from 7:00 am-4:30 pm. Immediately prior to his death, he had been at Paul's Lounge located at 3441 South Blvd, Charlotte.  He owned a 1972 Chevrolet, NC Tag DWM-389, that was recovered at the scene. Victim: Mendel Lee Morris

Location: 3011 Georgia Avenue, Charlotte NC
Date of Homicide:  10-03-1982 
 
 

Summary:
On Sunday, October 3, 1982 at approximately 3:10 PM, Mr. Mendel Lee Morris was found dead of an apparent gun shot wound at 3011 Georgia Avenue. He was 56 years old at the time of his death. Victim: Anthony Scott Williams

Summary:
Mr. Williams was initially reported missing by his roommate on September 19, 2000. He was last seen September 18, 2000. On September 20, 2000 he was found deceased in a vehicle at a warehouse parking lot near the airport at 4900 West Blvd. Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.

Summary:
At the time of the victim's death she was living with her husband and small child on Tom Hunter Road. The victim was 39 years old. The crime was reported when a neighbor saw smoke coming from the building and called the fire department. It appears the victim was murdered inside her residence and the apartment was set on fire to conceal the crime. There is evidence the assailant(s) forced his way into the apartment.  The victim was located in her bed and some of her personal belongings are missing.  Anyone with information regarding this homicide is asked to contact the Cold Case Homicide Squad.

 Michelle Patrice Alexander
Age - 21 / Black Female
Location - 1300 Block of Woodlawn Rd by Park Road Shopping Center, Charlotte, NC
Date of Homicide -  10-18-1999
 
 

Summary:
On October 3, 1999 at about 9:46 AM Michelle was riding home from the Street Lights night club behind Park Road Shopping Center. She was with several other friends. A white SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango, pulled up next to them at a red light at Park Road and Woodlawn Road. Both vehicles were headed West on Woodlawn. A black male on the passenger side of the SUV was attempting to talk to the people in the victim's vehicle. The driver of the victim's vehicle pulled away when the light changed to green. Occupants of the victims vehicle heard a loud pop and realized Michelle was shot and turned into a neighborhood for help. Michelle was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where she later died.

Summary:
The victim is a 30 year old black male living at 1025 Andrill Terrace. The victim left his home at around 12:15AM. A short time later witnesses heard gunshots and the victim was found lying in the street a short distance from his home

Summary:
The victim a 19 year old white female was found shot in her vehicle around 10PM on Nov. 13th, 1985 in the parking lot of Trinity Presbyterian church. She was last seen leaving her place of employment, Willow Creek Stables, 350 Privette Rd. Matthews NC at about 7:55 PM. She resided with her mother at 2010 Sharon lane charlotte NC.

Date of homicide – June 1st, 1991
 
 

Summary:
The victim, a 22 year old black male was found shot in his vehicle in front of Smallwood Grocery, 2501 W. Trade st. at about 1:10 AM June 1st, 1991. He resided at 2606 Pitts Dr. Charlotte NC
