The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department provides Homeland Security through Partnerships, Prevention and Preparedness.
PARTNERSHIPS: The department is engaged in partnerships with a host of other City and County agencies; other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies; the business community; and most importantly, with the residents of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

PREPAREDNESS: The department and its partners have developed a number of plans to deal with a variety of potential terror-related events. There are evacuation and mass communication plans. The department has a command center that can be quickly staffed and an emergency immobilization plan that can be put into effect.
