Mary Williams has worked with the Community Relations Committee for eight years and serves as Community Relations Manager with the Dispute Settlement Program. Her responsibilities include the following:
Dispute Settlement Program Manager
- market DSP and CRC services to community groups, organizations and provide information to new court personnel
- fosters and develops partnerships with the court system, area merchants, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Office of Administrative Hearings, Administrative Office of the Courts, Division of Medical Assistance, Carolinas Center for Medical Excellence, Value Options and Electronic Data Systems
- collects, organizes, analyzes and prepares reports regarding DSP and CRC statistics for the City’s balanced scorecard, monthly highlights, mid-year and year-end reorts
- prepares and monitors the CRC annual strategic operations plan, including goals, objectives and targets
- monitors DSP budget and expenditure of funds
- processes grant requests for DSP
- creates modules and facilitates training in Basic Mediation, Diversity, Conflict Resolution, Peer Mediation and Medicaid Appeals
- collaborate with partners to secure continuation of State funding for DSP program
- maintain State mediation certifications for all volunteer mediators
Strategic
- assist the CRC director in developing, directing and implementing programs and activities that develop, maintain and improve community relations in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
Administrative
- meet with community groups regarding community relations
- serves as staff liaison to the CRC’s Education Subcommittee
- assists the CRC director in informing the Community Relations Committee membership of community problems and recommends solutions
