​WHAT: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations hosts the 34th annual Police Community Relations Awards, recognizing officers and work teams from CMPD who have made outstanding contributions to the improvement of police-community relations in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Officers were chosen based on their involvement in helping the community understand the police function and the citizens’ role, demonstration of extraordinary efforts in the area of crime prevention, and involvement in aiding neighborhoods in handling special problems.
​WHEN: Thursday, May 16 at 7 p.m.
​WHERE: CenterStage at NoDa, 2315 N. Davidson Street
​WHY: As a part of other Police Week festivities, the Police Community Relations Awards are an important way to celebrate the efforts of officers who go above and beyond.
