City of Charlotte seeking nominations for 37th Annual Police Community Relations Awards
Deadline for nominations extended to April 8
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 22, 2016) – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Division is now accepting nominations for the 37th Annual Police Community Relations Awards. These awards recognize officers and employees from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) who have made contributions to improving police and community relations in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
An annual feature of Charlotte's Law Enforcement Week celebration, the awards recognize officers and employees from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for building positive, problem-solving relationships with citizens and neighborhood groups. During the past 36 years, Charlotte-Mecklenburg community members have nominated more than 3,400 officers.
Citizens in the patrol area, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) personnel, groups and individuals may make nominations. To nominate an officer or team, write to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee, Belmont Regional Center, 700 Parkwood Ave., Charlotte, NC, or call (704) 336-3056 to request a nomination form. Forms also are available on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations website through www.charmeck.org . Deadline for nominations is Friday, April 8, 2016.
