Protect Local Streams

Although lawn maintenance can make for a beautiful yard, it is important to protect local stream ecosystems. The timing and application of lawn chemicals is key to safeguarding our community’s water systems. Now is a good time to add lime to your lawn so that the soil pH levels are ready for spring planting.

Before applying any lawn chemicals, Storm Water Services wants to remind you to follow these helpful tips:
  • Soil test your yard before applying fertilizers
  • Avoid over spraying chemicals, only apply to the exact areas where you want them
For more tips and information, visit the Storm Water Services webpage.
