The City of Charlotte is in the process of developing the FY2014–15 operating budget and FY2014–18 Capital Investment Plan (CIP). All budget workshops, presentations and the public hearing will be broadcast live on the GOV Channel Cable 16 and streamed live on the GOV Channel’s website. The first live telecast will take place at the budget workshop scheduled for Wednesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. All telecasts will be closed-captioned for the hearing impaired and will be re-aired throughout the month. They will also be archived on the GOV Channel website.
“It is important for the general public to know how the operating and capital budgets are developed,” said Council member Michael Barnes, who chairs the City Council Budget Committee. “The City’s GOV Channel and live streaming capabilities provide an excellent and convenient way for citizens to watch from home or an office to gain insight on how City Council develops a budget on their behalf.”
