Charlotte, NC — After the official opening of the elections filing period on Friday, July 5, the City of Charlotte is once again using Candidates.CharlotteNC.gov as a portal for all information resulting from election-related requests to City staff.
With a goal of openness and impartiality, the site serves as a conduit to responses from all City candidate requests as well as information from the candidate briefing packet, which includes the responsibilities of Mayor and Council, rules about the crown logo on campaign signage, an organizational chart, and other helpful documents.
Due to processes already in-place for expediting fulfillment of public information requests, candidates for Mayor or City Council are encouraged to contact Corporate Communications & Marketing rather than requesting information from individual departments or staff. City candidates are also asked to be as specific as possible and include the following:
· Date of request
· Contact information (email, phone, fax)
· A brief description of request
· The date by which the information is needed
