WHAT:

The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County will host an event in remembrance of the attacks on September 11, 2001. This will be part of the National 9/11 Moment of Remembrance and pay tribute to those who lost their lives.
 
The National 9/11 Moment of Remembrance was established through the unanimous approval of a Senate resolution introduced by Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and co-sponsored by all 100 United States Senators.

For one minute beginning at 1 p.m., the National 9/11 Moment of Remembrance asks every person to stop and remember the 2,977 lives lost. Places of worship are encouraged to observe the moment by ringing their bells during that period of time.
