In accordance with the ordinance approved by the City Council in January 2012 and upon the recommendation of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the City of Charlotte has declared the following as an Extraordinary Event for the following dates and duration:

• The CIAA Basketball Tournament and its related events beginning on Monday, February 25 at 6:00 a.m. and ending on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 6:00 a.m.

An Extraordinary Event is defined as a large scale event or an event of national or international significance which might attract a significant number of people to a certain geographic area of the city.
