‘My Charlotte’ Mobile Application Available for Droid Users

The City of Charlotte’s “My Charlotte,” a mobile application for accessing municipal services on-the-go, is now available on the Android platform. The City launched the application in October which, until recently, was available solely on the Apple iPhone.
 
The goal of the application is to give residents more options to access citizen service. Through investment in such technology, the City is able to manage its costs. A traditional call made to 311 costs the City $4.91 per call, while a report made through My Charlotte costs less than 75¢. 
 
Just like with the iPhone,  the Android version of the “My Charlotte” application allows users to:
  • Obtain flight and parking information at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
  • Receive traffic accident updates from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police
  • Access a link to download the CATS mobile application for transit information
  • Access services via 311 to report graffiti, potholes and other neighborhood nuisances

The City plans to launch a version of the application for Blackberry users in the coming weeks.
