CHARLOTTE - The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services will kick-off Charlotte Recycle It! Week 2013 on April 8 to promote community awareness of the importance of recycling and encourage Recycle It! program participation. A variety of community events held through April 12 will highlight the many opportunities there are to recycle, including at home, work, school, and in Uptown.
Events planned for Charlotte Recycle It! Week include:
SWS Facility Recycling Fair
1105 Otts Street
Attendees will learn the correct items to recycle, what’s made from these recyclables and the proper way to recycle.
LYNX Platform Recycling – Arrowood Station
7717 England Street
LYNX riders will have an opportunity to learn more about recycling along the LYNX light rail line and in Uptown.
BigBelly Bin Recycling – CMGC
600 E. 4th Street
11 am – 2 pm
Pedestrians will learn more about the use of the BigBelly waste stations and additional recycling opportunities available in Uptown.
School Recycling – Winget Park Elementary
12235 Winget Road
Fifth grade students will participate in various activities to learn more about recycling.
Uptown Recycling – Disc Plaza
Corner of Trade & Tryon Streets
11 am – 2 pm
Pedestrians will have an opportunity to learn more about all recycling opportunities in Uptown.
