Due to recent inclement weather, recycling collection for residents on Green Week was delayed. The City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services continued recycling collection service today at 8 am to service Friday customers. Collection crews serviced all Thursday customers yesterday, and will work on Saturday, January 15 to service this week’s Monday customers. This week’s Tuesday and Wednesday customers will receive recycling collection service on Tuesday, January 18.
Residents may notice City of Charlotte yard waste vehicles collecting recyclables in their neighborhoods on Tuesday. All recyclables collected by these vehicles will be transported to Mecklenburg County’s recycling facility and will be recycled.
Solid Waste Services will not provide collection services on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 17. Recycling collection service for residents on Orange Week will operate on a one-day delay with Friday customers receiving service on Saturday, January 22.
To ensure recycling collection, residents are asked to
- Remove food/liquid residue and lids from all recyclable containers before placing them in the recycling cart.
- Please do not bag recyclables. Place them loosely in the rollout cart.
- Place the rollout cart within 2 feet of the curb and at least 3 feet away from other collection items and other obstacles. Please do not block the sidewalk.
