Lane Closure Notice

Arrowood Road and Forest Point Boulevard

Communicated: August 5, 2014
Closure dates: August 6, 2014 to September 5, 2014

Arrowood Road between Forest Point Boulevard and Windsong Drive will be reduced to one westbound lane and one eastbound lane beginning Wednesday August 6, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. through September 5, 2014.  This closure is necessary for construction of the Arrowood 24” Water Main Replacement and is a continuation of the construction work as it moves south and east along Arrowood Road.  See below map for updated information.

The second below partial intersection closure (communicated 7/25/14) at Arrowood Road and Forest Point Boulevard will be completed by 9 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014 (a week earlier than projected).

Motorists should use alternate routes to avoid congestion.

Local access will be maintained.

CATS will not be affected.

Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent work from being completed as scheduled, and make it unsafe to reopen lanes or streets when planned.  When this occurs, City traffic engineers work directly with other City staff and contractors to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and reduce impacts to the traveling public.

Pedestrians walking near work zone areas should be alert, cautious and allow extra traveling time.  It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available and abide by detour signage.

Motorists traveling through work zone areas should be alert and extra cautious.  Drivers should get in the correct lane well in advance and constantly be on the
lookout for vehicles merging into adjacent travel lanes as they approach a work zone.  Drivers should double their following distance.
