Update: Heavy Traffic Expected During Uptown Arena Event

Charlotte, NC—The Bobcats preseason event, Cool School Field Trip, will take place at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Thursday, October 17 at 11 a.m.  Attendance is expected to be 15,000-17,000 eighth grade students transported in over 300 school buses.  Heavy uptown traffic is expected starting at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  On-street parking will be very limited near the Arena on Fifth Street to Ninth Street from College Street to McDowell Street.  Additionally, the area of Fourth Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Brevard Street to McDowell Street will also have restrictions. Commuters should plan accordingly.

School children will be crossing streets and walking to the Arena from remote on-street and lot parking.  Motorists are cautioned to be alert at all times.
