All lanes of northbound and southbound Remount Road from block 2020 to 2501 will close Wednesday August 6th at 2:00 pm and will remain closed for approximately 5 weeks. Pedestrians and bicycle traffic will be maintained at all times. This closure is necessary for the installation of a 72” storm drainage improvement. Drivers should expect delays. This closure is associated with the Brentwood Place Storm Drainage Improvement Project – Phase 1 (671-05-707). Signed detours will be posted using West Boulevard, Old Steele Creek Road, and Wilkinson Boulevard, as well as I-77 South to Exit 9A West Boulevard and I-77 North to Exit 9C Wilkinson Boulevard.
Detour will be posted.
Local access will be maintained.
CATS will not be affected.
Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent work from being completed as scheduled, and make it unsafe to reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, City traffic engineers work directly with other City staff and contractors to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and reduce impacts to the traveling public.
Pedestrians walking near work zone areas should be alert, cautious and allow extra traveling time. It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available and abide by detour signage.
Motorists traveling through work zone areas should be alert and extra cautious. Drivers should get in the correct lane well in advance and constantly be on the lookout for vehicles merging into adjacent travel lanes as they approach a work zone. Drivers should double their following distance.
