Closure date: September 7, 2014
West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. between South Tryon Street and South Church Street will close on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 9 a.m. and will re-open the same day at 6 p.m. This closure is necessary for HVAC work on the roof of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Building. Westbound detour will be right on South Tryon Street, left on West Fourth Street, left on South Church Street and right back on to West Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
CATS will not be affected.
Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent work from being completed as scheduled, and make it unsafe to reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, City traffic engineers work directly with other City staff and contractors to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and reduce impacts to the traveling public.
