Contractors for Charlotte Water (CLTWater, formerly Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utility Department [CMUD]) is replacing a drinking water pipe under;
- Arrowood Road (between Arrowridge Boulevard and near Kings Creek Drive); COMPLETED
- Sulkirk Road (between Park South Road and Sharon Road);
- Park South Road (between Park Road and Sulkirk Road); and
- Sharon Road (between Sulkirk Road and Rutherford Drive).
WHEN: Construction started July 21st, 2014 on Arrowood Road (at Arrowridge Boulevard) and is complete. Construction on Sulkirk Road began in December 2014.
To accommodate construction for Sulkirk Road Water Main Replacement project closures will occur on:
+ Sulkirk Road will close between Rhodes Avenue and Park South Drive on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 9 a.m. and reopen around February 7th. Construction will be completed in a block by block fashion, allowing local access only. During the duration of this closure, motorists can use the detour route of Sulstone Lane, Stokes Avenue and Park South Drive.
+ Park South Drive between Old Reid Road and Park Road will close on February 7 and reopen on February 22 at night. During the closure, motorists can use detour (Fairview Road) to get around. During this time, weekend lane closures will occur on Park Road at the intersection of Park South Drive for up to three weekends. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
++ Local access will be maintained to businesses and parking facilities. Sidewalks will be open for pedestrians. CATS will not be affected. Sidewalks will be open for pedestrians.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Expect to see several dump trucks, large trucks delivering pipe, and large excavators.
WATER SERVICE: If temporary interruption of water service becomes necessary, affected property owners will be notified at least 72 hours in advance. Unexpected service interruptions will be treated as an emergency.
