The rate increase will put crews back into the field to address water leak backlogs and other maintenance items. Currently, there are 13 pipe repair crews, down from 31. The rate increase will restore 8 additional crews. This would help reduce the service backlog by adding capacity to fix about 16 additional leaks each day on average.
