Transit Planning
Airport Construction Detours

Effective January 13th – March 1, 2014
Route 5 Sprinter
Beginning Monday, January 13, there will be permanent traffic changes out at the Charlotte-Douglas Airport.  Little Rock Road will become one-way only, south of Wilkinson Boulevard.  As a result of this traffic shift, the inbound Sprinter will take a new route back to Wilkinson Boulevard via Marshall Drive.  CATS will closely monitor how this change affects schedule reliability.  Future schedule adjustments may ultimately be recommended.
Also beginning Monday, January 13, every night from 10pm until 6am, the lower driveway (arrivals level) next to the Airport terminal will have an overnight traffic detour that will affect only the first morning trip and the late night trips.

Before 6am or after 10pm, customers must board the Sprinter closer to the terminal building on the lower level (baggage claim) near the doors marked “D” for Concourse D.  This area will serve other transportation services as well.  Customers are asked to look for the green bus with “Sprinter” logos.

All trips during this time will load and unload as quickly as possible, without any layover.  Buses may deviate from schedule slightly in order to keep moving through the shared space.  Between 6am and 10pm, customers may continue to board at the existing Sprinter shelter.
