Routes 17, 40x, 46x, 51X, 64x, 65x, 74x and Gold Rush

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is holding an open house public meeting to solicit input regarding proposed adjustments to several routes. The open house is designed for you to drop in anytime during the meeting hours.

Independence Boulevard Corridor

In June 2013, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is scheduled to begin construction on Independence Boulevard. The NCDOT is converting Independence Boulevard into an expressway. CATS will be discussing proposals designed to minimize impacts on the following routes: 17 Commonwealth, 51X Idlewild Road Express, 64X Independence Boulevard Express, 65X Matthews Express and 74X Union County Express.

Albemarle Road Expresses

CATS staff will also share the following proposed route adjustments: 40X Albemarle Road Express, discontinuation of Pence Road service and new service on Harrisburg Road. Service will be maintained on Albemarle and Harrisburg Roads between Albemarle Road park and ride and Pence Road.

Gold Rush

CATS will discuss possible reductions to the Gold Rush Red Line and Orange Line.
