New Airport Service

Effective June 16, 2014

On Monday, June 16, 2014 the Charlotte Area Transit System(CATS) in cooperation with Charlotte Douglas International Airport will begin new express service to the airport.  The service will operate between CATS park and ride lots and the airport from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight seven days each week.  Buses will run every 30 minutes.  This demonstration route is planned to operate through December 31, 2014.

Route 590 Airport Connector - Northlake will pick up riders at the CATS park and ride lot at Northlake Mall and express via I-485 to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.  Route 591 Airport Connector – Archdale will pick up riders at the CATS park and ride lots along the Lynx Blue Line at Archdale, Tyvola and Woodlawn Stations.  For security reasons, no 24-hour parking will be permitted at the park and ride lots, as this service is designed to primarily accommodate airport employees and travelers who are dropped off at the bus stop.

Cash fare one-way is $2.75, but in accordance with the planned CATS fare increase, the fare will increase to $3.00 one-way beginning on July 1, 2014.  CATS offers express 10-ride passes and express monthly passes for regular riders of the service.  Please call 704-336-RIDE (7433) for more information.
