Matthews Trade Street Railroad Crossing Closure
June 24, 2013 - June 27, 2013
Routes 27 Monroe Road and 65X Matthews Express
On Monday, June 24th through Thursday, June 27th, North Trade Street in Downtown Matthews will be closed at the railroad crossing. This four-day closure is because of track work by the freight railroad company. Inbound buses for Routes 27 and 65X will use the regular route to N Trade St, then use Sam Newell Rd to Matthews Township Parkway (Hwy 51) back to Monroe Rd and resume the regular route. Outbound buses for Routes 27 and 65X will use the regular route to Monroe Rd and Matthews Township Parkway (Hwy 51), then use Highway 51 to Sam Newell Rd and resume the regular route.
Bus stops on West John Street and North Trade Street south of the railroad will be temporarily out of service. Given the detour, customers normally parking at the Matthews Presbyterian Church park and ride on West John Street should consider parking instead at the Independence Pointe park and ride, which is located off Sam Newell Rd.
