Detour - Route 12

Beginning Monday, August 22, 2011, southbound buses on route #12 South Boulevard will detour near the Lynx Scaleybark Light Rail Station.

The City of Charlotte is working with Scaleybark Partners LLC to improve the area around the LYNX Scaleybark Light Rail Station. Bus stops southbound on South Boulevard between Clanton and Freeland will be removed to accommodate construction beginning August 22, 1011. Southbound #12 buses will operate south on South Boulevard, turn right on Clanton, left on DeWitt, left into the Scaleybark Park and Ride where the bus will pick up passengers. The bus will depart and continue right on southbound South Boulevard and follow the regular route to the I-485 Lynx Light Rail Station. Northbound buses will not be affected by the construction.

The first phase of the village will be the construction of a new streetscape along the west side of South Boulevard between Clanton Road and Freeland Lane. The completed streetscape project will include a bicycle lane, on-street parking, new lighting and landscaping, creating a pedestrian friendly environment along this portion of South Boulevard.

Work is scheduled to be complete by December 2011. Bus routing will be adjusted several times throughout the term of the project. Visit CATS at www.ridetransit.org or call 704-336-RIDE for updated detour information.
