Eastland Mall Demolition

EFFECTIVE UNTIL MARCH 2014

Routes 9, 17, 222, 232, 29, 40x, 46, 221

Demolition has started on Eastland Mall and is expected to take about seven months. In order to safely maintain bus operations during this time, construction fencing has been placed around the Eastland Community Transit Center.

CATS buses will continue to follow existing routing and serve all existing bus stops on Central Avenue and within the transit center.  The traffic signal on Central Avenue, immediately next to the transit center, will continue to provide both vehicular and pedestrian access.  Pedestrians can access the transit center from this signal or from Central Avenue sidewalks immediately next to the transit center.

CATS customers must walk along Central Avenue to the main transit center entrance to gain access to the transit center.  Sidewalks that allow access to the transit center via the mall parking lot will be closed. In addition, the parking lot entrance from Sharon Amity is closed and will not provide access to the transit center.  All former driveways and sidewalk connections through the parking lot will be cut off by construction fencing.
