LYNX Blue Line Weekend Construction Line Cut Work

Effective November 22-23, 2014

During the weekend of November 22-23, construction work near the LYNX Blue Line in Uptown will result in a line cut for LYNX serviceDuring this time, the LYNX Blue Line will only operate between the I-485/S.Blvd. Station and the Carson Station.  All LYNX Blue Line stations in Uptown will be closed except for the CTC/Arena Station.

Service to the CTC/Arena from the Carson Station, will be accessible via CATS bus service. When the bus approaches, the headway sign will say “LYNX Connector.” The LYNX Connector will have direct service between the Charlotte Transportation Center and the Carson Station.  Other stations in Uptown will not be served by the LYNX Connector.  Customers in Uptown can access the LYNX Connector at Bay X of the Charlotte Transportation Center. Bay X is located on East 4th Street below the LYNX Blue Line bridge.

The LYNX Connector will also stop in front of the Charlotte Convention Center for customers attending this weekend’s auto show.  Please let the bus operator know you will be going to the auto show upon boarding at Carson Station.  When leaving the convention center, please use the bus stop on Brevard and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

Regular local fare will be required and, as always, serves as a transfer. Tickets can be purchased at the open LYNX stations from the ticket vending machines. If you are paying for your ride on the bus, you will need cash and have exact change. The bus driver cannot make change and the fareboxes do not accept credit cards.

The LYNX Blue Line is expected to return to its regular schedule Monday morning.

Construction work is weather dependent; call 704-336-RIDE (7433) or check CATS webpage at www.ridetransit.org for updates.
