  • In FY2011, 231 CATS buses contained diesel particulate filters. These filters, in conjunction with Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) used on the entire fleet, reduce emissions by as much as 90 percent.

  • CATS' Special Transportation Service (STS) provides door-to-door transportation for individuals who are certified according to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ride within Charlotte's city limits and towns located in Mecklenburg County. In FY2011, STS operated 85 vehicles and provided  229,146 rides.
