CATS Adjusts Routes at the Charlotte Transportation Center During Road Construction
Immediate Release – April 19, 2013

Beginning Sunday, April 21, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will reroute buses to accommodate construction on Trade Street. Trade Street is scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic between College Street and Caldwell Street through May 19. As a result of the street closure, all buses will access the Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC) from Fourth Street. “We realize there may be some delays in service as buses maneuver around the construction area and use only one entrance. We ask our customers to be attentive to the changes of bus movement inside the CTC,” says Pamela White, Manager of Service Development. “We appreciate the patience of our customers during this time.”

Some routes will be relocated to Bay X for boarding and de-boarding. Several routes will be unable to serve bus stops on Trade Street between Church Street and College Street. Pedestrians will have access to the CTC from Trade Street. CATS encourages customers to check the website and rider’s alert for information about specific route adjustments.
