Attend a Transportation Fair To Learn How Transit Service Will Operate Durng the DNC
Immediate Release - July 18, 2012

During the month of August, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will conduct several transportation fairs to share information on the rerouting of bus routes and LYNX Blue Line operations during the Democratic National Convention (DNC).  The Charlotte Transit Center (CTC) will temporarily relocate to Third and South Mint Streets from September 3 through 5 during the Democratic National Convention. The CTC will return to normal operations the morning of September 6.

“We want our current and new customers to have transit information before the convention so they can plan their travel accordingly,” said Olaf Kinard, Director of Marketing and Communications for CATS.  “CATS provides you convenient transportation to the front door of all the activities occurring in Center City during the DNC such as CarolinaFest 2012 and The American Presidential Experience.”

The temporary Transit Center will operate normal business hours and provide customers with the same amenities they depend on every day when using transit such as air-conditioned waiting areas, concessions, ADA accessible public restrooms, safety and security, and pass sales. CATS Transit Ambassadors will be on site assisting customers with transfers and transit questions.

Make plans to attend one of the transportation fairs for more information.  Please note that some of the dates listed are marked for employees at that location only.  Check the schedule often as additional locations are added to the list.  For more information about CATS and its services, call 704-336-7433 or visit us at www.ridetransit.org.
