LYNX BLUE LINE EXTENSION ANNOUNCES TWITTER AND FACEBOOK SITES TO ASSIST BUSINESSES AND COMMUTERS THROUGH CONSTRUCTION

Work crews are now heading into the field to begin relocating utilities and doing advance work ahead of the LYNX Blue Line Extension (BLE) construction scheduled for early 2014. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) and the City of Charlotte want you to be involved every step of the way. To do that there are several ways that you can choose to stay informed of project updates, construction plans and future detours. Two new social media sites dedicated to BLE information are now ready for your use to give you the most up to date information and answer your questions.

The 9.3 mile BLE alignment will run from Center City Charlotte to the UNC Charlotte campus and include 11 light rail stations and four parking facilities. Daily ridership on the BLE is estimated to be 18,000 when operations begin in 2017.
