RIDE CATS TO THE UNC CHARLOTTE 49ERS FOOTBALL GAMES
As you make plans to attend the University of North Carolina (UNC) Charlotte 49ers football games, skip the stress of tackling traffic and finding a parking spot. Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) has two bus routes that take you close to the action.
Route 11 North Tryon/UNCC gets you within yards of the stadium with its stop at North Tryon and Institute Drive. “Fans can hop on the bus at the Charlotte Transportation Center and arrive right to the game,” said Larry Kopf, CATS Chief Operations Planning Officer. “We will have staff monitoring the ridership on Route 11 in case we need to add supplemental service to accommodate the crowds.” After the game, fans can use the designated, signaled crosswalk on North Tryon to head back into Center City.
Football fans coming from north of UNC Charlotte can take the 80X Concord Express to the game. The 80X will leave from its park and ride at the Home Depot in Concord at 9:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. and make stops at the Big Lots Park and Ride and Embassy Suites Hotel Concord before dropping riders off on the campus just a short distance from the stadium.
Buses will be available starting at 3 p.m. for return trips. Fare for Route 11 is $2 each way. Route 80X fare is $4 one way. Customers will need exact change or a bus pass.
