CATS Offers Convenient Transportation To and From the Charlotte Motor Speedway

Charlotte, NC, October 13, 2010 - The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is providing service for race fans from Center City Charlotte to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 16.  Starting from the NASCAR Hall of Fame, with various Uptown stops including the Charlotte Transportation Center, race fans can take the 79X Concord Mills Express to beat the traffic and enjoy the Bank of America 500 at the Speedway for just $7 round-trip.  The route will run every 20 minutes from noon to 6:00 p.m.

“This service offers another transportation option for race fans to travel from Center City Charlotte to the Charlotte Motor Speedway,” said Olaf Kinard, CATS Director of Marketing & Communications.  “CATS encourages race fans staying in the Charlotte area to take advantage of the 79X Concord Mills Express service and let us do the driving for you.”

Customers may catch the 79X at the Fourth Street side of the Charlotte Transportation Center.  Buses will be located near the track’s main entrance immediately after the checkered flag for return trips.  Passengers may bring small coolers that fit on your lap but no eating or drinking are permitted while on the bus.
