Charlotte, N.C., May 7, 2010 - As you make plans to head to Center City Charlotte for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Grand Opening on Tuesday, May 11, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) encourages attendees to leave their cars behind and let CATS take you to this historical event.
The LYNX Blue Line is running two-car trains all day to accommodate citizens attending the NASCAR Hall of Fame ceremonies that begin at 9:00 a.m. Click here to learn how to ride CATS and find the locations of the seven light rail park and ride lots along the line with the help of Google maps.
CATS ambassadors will be out at key stations throughout the day assisting riders with transit information. Customers can purchase tickets with cash or credit card at the ticket vending machines located on the train platforms. Customer Service will also be on site at the I-485/South Boulevard Station supplementing pass sales for the anticipated crowds on Tuesday. CATS advises transit customers to purchase round trip passes when possible.
