The City of Charlotte has partnered with GoodSports Enterprises Global, LLC to bring an amateur sports facility to Charlotte by redeveloping Bojangles' Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium. Already a regional destination on the Eastside, the improvements to the site are designed to create an attraction for residents and visitors that operates daily, bring additional businesses to the community and to create investment opportunities in the area.
The site will feature:
- Eight full size basketball courts that can be adaptable to a variety of configurations and uses
- Retail including restaurants
- Structured parking
- Green Plaza/open amenity space
Using $25 million in capital funds, the area around the Bojangles' Coliseum and Ovens Auditorium will be transformed to include the construction of a new building that provides an additional 67,000+ square feet of flexible, multi-sport playing surface.
How You Can Get Involved
Community meetings will be scheduled throughout the project to keep you informed and provide opportunities for residents to share ideas, opinions and concerns with City planners and project managers.
