The MICA ceremony highlights the philanthropic accomplishments of nine finalist companies and two individual award winners that embody Charlotte's international community.

Since 1998, the Charlotte International Cabinet and the Office of the Mayor have hosted the Mayor's International Community Awards. This event was created to honor the philanthropic giving and other forms of support that many of Mecklenburg County's foreign-owned firms have given to non-profit organizations in the Charlotte area.

Each year nine companies are nominated and three are chosen as winners, each in the small, medium and large company categories.

Room Set-Up at MICAIn 2003, the Mayor's International Community Awards event was expanded to the Charlotte USA region.

You can find a list of area foreign-owned firms in the Charlotte Chamber's "International Review."  All foreign-owned firms located in the Greater Charlotte Region are eligible for nomination for the Mayor's International Community Awards.
