Weatherization Assistance Program

 Total Federal Funding: $5 billion
 Estimated N.C. Funding: $136 million
 Estimated Local Funding: $6 million for Mecklenburg, Gaston and Union Counties over a three year period.

Gaston Community Action Agency
 Overview: Funding will expand the eligibility of low-income households for the Weatherization Assistance Program and increase the funding assistance level per dwelling from $2,500 to $6,500 per dwelling. It provides a wide variety of energy efficiency measures including insulation, heating and cooling systems and more.
 Eligibility: Low-income residents that are owner occupants. This program defines low income as less than 200% of the poverty level or $43,820 for a family of four.
