Shamrock Gardens
This project will make infrastructure improvements such as curb and gutter, sidewalk, and storm drainage. This project is bounded by Anne Street, Shamrock Drive, Eastway Drive and Country Club Drive.

What's happened? The first Public Meeting was held January 15, 2009 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3020 Hilliard Drive. Public meeting comments have been compiled.

A second Public Meeting was held May 7, 2009 where residents were shown construction options based on the first public meeting and input from the project team.

A third Public Meeting was held July 30, 2009 where residents were presented with a draft final construction plans and asked to comment.

What's next? The real estate acquisition phase began in March 2012. Construction will begin in spring or early summer of 2013.

Shamrock Gardens (Country Club Heights Neighborhood Association)is a 2010 Neighborhood Improvement Bond Project. In November 2006, voters approved $25,000,000 for neighborhood improvement projects including $2,900,000 for planning, design, right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation and construction for the Shamrock Gardens neighborhood.

This project will provide infrastructure improvements that include:

  • Flamingo Avenue: New sidewalk, curb and gutter 
  • Palm Avenue: New sidewalk, curb and gutter
  • Hilliard Drive: New curb and gutter
  • Connecticut Avenue (Hilliard to Palm): New street with curb, sidewalk and storm drainage.
  • Cardiff Avenue (Palm to Springway Drive): New street with curb, sidewalk and storm drainage.
  • Cardiff Avenue (Hilliard to Palm and Palm to Shamrock): New sidewalk, curb and gutter
  • Springway Drive (Flamingo to dead end): New curb and gutter.
  • Airlie Street (Country Club Drive to Jeff Street and Hilliard to Shamrock): Road narrowing with new sidewalk, curb and gutter.
  • Jeff Street (Ventosa Drive to Airlie): New curb and gutter.
  • Brixton Court: Cul de sac median with new curb and landscaping.
  • Country Club Drive: New railing over Briar Creek.

All improved streets will include new street trees.
Significant additional storm drainage improvement are being reviewed on Hilliard Drive and Airlie Street.

Objectives:

  • Maintain, stabilize and revitalize the neighborhood through comprehensive infrastructure improvements
  • Strengthen the neighborhood and surrounding community

Cost:  $3,200,000
Please note that this is the NIP funding amount. Additional funding may be identified after the planning phase. Project costs typically include all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
