Sugaw Creek/Ritch Avenue
This project will make infrastructure improvements like curb and gutter, sidewalk and storm drainage in the Sugaw Creek/Ritch Avenue neighborhood.

What's happened?
United Construction, Inc. was awarded the contract for construction of the improvements on April 23, 2012.

What's next? Construction began in June 2012 and was completed in July.  Landscaping is scheduled for fall/winter planting season.

A Neighborhood Improvement Project

In November 2006, voters approved $25,000,000 for neighborhood improvement projects like Sugaw Creek/Ritch Avenue. 

This project will provide infrastructure improvements in the area bounded by Sugar Creek Road west and North Tryon Street north and include roadway and pedestrian improvements, such as curb and gutter, sidewalks and storm drainage improvements. Streets scheduled for improvement are: Sofley Road, Glory Street and Hyde Drive.

Objectives:

  • Maintain, stabilize and revitalize the neighborhood through comprehensive infrastructure improvements
  • Strengthen the neighborhood and surrounding community

Cost:   $3,300,000
Please note this figure includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
