Rozzelles Ferry Road Streetscape
This project will provide improvements to Rozzelles Ferry Road including sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, planting strips and signage.

What's happened? City staff worked with an engineering consultant to plan and design the streetscape improvements for Rozzelles Ferry Road. 

What's next?
Construction is complete. Landscaping will begin in late November.

Part of the Westside Strategy Plan – A 2000 Transportation Bond Project

This project installed new sidewalks, planting strips, storm drainage improvements, curb and gutter, wheel chair ramps and a retaining wall at one key location from the I-85 overpass bridge on Rozzelles Ferry Road to the existing curb and gutter on West Trade Street.  This project was completed in March 2006.   The streetscape portion of the project was completed in July 2007. All that remains is landscaping.

 

Objectives:

  • Bring forth vitalization along the Rozzelles Ferry Roadarea.
  • Attract new businesses to the area.

The Rozzelles Ferry Road Corridor projects were implemented as part of the Westside Strategy Plan adopted by City Council in 2000. 

 
 

Rozzelles Ferry Sidewalk Project
Cost:  $1,000,000

.  This project was completed in March 2006.  

 

Rozzelles Ferry Streetscape
Cost: $2,000,000
This project will install new sidewalk, wheelchair ramps, curb and gutter in key locations and planting strips with street trees.  Bicycle lanes will be installed from the Rozzelles Ferry / West Trade Street intersection to Beatties Ford Road.  Pedestrian refuge medians and pedestrian lighting will also be installed in key locations along the corridor.

Please note that this figure includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
