A 2010 Transportation Bond Project

This project will make various improvements at the intersection of Arrowood Road and Nations Ford Road. Improvements include road widening as well as new sidewalks, driveways, planting strips, bike lanes, accessible ramps and storm drainage improvements.

This intersection was selected for improvement due to safety and congestion concerns.  Also, this intersection has been ranked in the top ten high accident locations four of the last five years.  The Charlotte Department of Transportation has recommended intersection modifications to meet the following objectives:

  • Reduce intersection and driveway left turn crashes.
  • Improve pedestrian and bicycle levels of service.
  • Improve traffic flow

Cost:  $1,400,000
Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.  Additional funding may be identified after the planning phase.

The Engineering & Property Management (E&PM) project team will manage the Arrowood/Nations Ford Project through a four stage process. Click here to learn how City projects are selected, designed and built.
