This project is complete.  It made infrastructure improvements such as sidewalk, curb and gutter, and minor storm drainage improvements in the Eastway/Sheffield neighborhood. 

What's happened?
The  first public meeting was held on August 16, 2007 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. The second public meeting was held on November 29, 2007. 

What's next?
 Construction is complete. The final inspection for construction was held July 16.

A 2006 Neighborhood Improvement Project

This project area is bounded by Eastway Drive, Albemarle Road, N. Sharon Amity Road, Central Avenue and Independence Boulevard. This project will identify opportunities for roadway and pedestrian improvements such as:

  • curb and gutter
  • sidewalks
  • driveway aprons
  • storm drainage

This project may also involve coordination with storm drainage improvements and water and sewer line replacements. This project's construction is funded by the 2008 Neighborhood Bonds. Construction of this project began in 2013.

Cost:   $3,000,000
Please note that this is the NIP (Neighborhood Improvement Program) funding amount.  Project costs typically include all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
