Charlotte's Vision for the Future
Notify Me of changes to this page
The traditional approach to the City’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) has been successful in meeting the needs of our community, but Charlotte like other cities across the nation, is experiencing a number of social and economic changes that challenge us to think differently about what type of services and facilities we provide, and how we provide them.

The CIP provides information on resources allocated for projects related to each of the City of Charlotte’s five City Council focus Areas (Economic Development, Housing and Neighborhoods, Community Safety, Transportation and the Environment). More information on the City's Capital Budget

Projects in the CIP fall into three primary investment areas:

Investing in Corridors - To promote economic development, expansion and job creation

Increasing Connections - To increase connectivity with road projects, streetcar extension and infrastructure improvements

Improving Communities - To address affordable housing, neighborhood improvements and quality of life needs
