CHARLOTTE, NC — May 7 marked Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter’s first visit to the nation’s capital after being sworn-in to office on April 7. While in Washington, Clodfelter met with several members of the local delegation including Senator Richard Burr, Senator Kay Hagan, Congressman Robert Pittenger and Congressman Richard Hudson.

Clodfelter said he wanted to make it clear to lawmakers and federal administrators that Charlotte remains focused on key priorities, such as improvements to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, the 2030 Transit System Plan including the LYNX Blue Line Extension and LYNX Gold Line as well as other major transportation projects. He thanked them for their previous support and requested their continued advocacy.

“As Mayor, I want to ensure we remain focused our key priorities,” said Clodfelter. “We have a number of significant transportation projects that we seek to advance as we continue to invest in Charlotte’s future growth and development. We appreciate the support we have received and we know our partnership with the federal government will be critical as we move forward.”

Clodfelter also met with the Deputy Federal Transit Administrator Therese McMillian and Special Assistant to the President Rohan Patel.
